Tool
Days Between Two Dates
Enter a start date and an end date. Get total days, weeks, calendar months, and business days (Monday–Friday).
How the count works
The result counts elapsed days — the same way a banker or HR system counts. If you go from May 1st to May 4th, that's 3 days.
- Business days exclude Saturdays and Sundays. Public holidays are not excluded; see our holidays section if you need to subtract them.
- Months count calendar boundaries: from January 31 to February 1 is one month, but only 1 day.
- Negative numbers mean the end date is before the start date.
Frequently asked questions
Does this include the start date?
No — it counts the difference. From May 1 to May 4 is 3 days, not 4.
Are public holidays excluded from business days?
Not automatically. The business-day count only removes weekends. For US federal holidays, see our holiday pages.
What time zone does it use?
Whole calendar dates, time-zone independent — the calculation is the same regardless of where you are.
