Apple Calendar
How to Share an Apple Calendar from iPhone or Mac
iCloud calendars can be shared with specific people (who get edit access) or published publicly as a read-only link. The flow is similar on iPhone and Mac.
Step-by-step
- iPhone: open Calendar, tap Calendars at the bottom, then the info (ⓘ) icon next to the calendar you want to share.
- Tap Add Person… and enter their email or Apple ID.
- Choose View Only or Allow Editing per person.
- Mac: open Calendar, right-click the calendar name in the sidebar, choose Share Calendar…, and add people the same way.
- For a public link, tick Public Calendar. iCloud generates a webcal:// URL anyone can subscribe to without an Apple ID.
Permission levels
View Only means the other person sees events but can't change them. Allow Editing means they can create, modify, and delete events. There's no granular "see free/busy only" option like Google Calendar offers.
Stop sharing
Same place — tap the person's name and choose Stop Sharing. They lose access within a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I share with someone who doesn't use Apple?
Only via the public read-only link. Direct sharing requires an Apple ID on the recipient's side.
Does the recipient see my other calendars?
No — only the one you explicitly shared. Each calendar is shared separately.
