How to Add the NHL Schedule to Your Calendar (Google, Apple, Outlook)

Where to get the feed

Official team calendar sync

Each team's schedule page on nhl.com/[team]/schedule has a calendar-sync option — look for "Sync schedule", "Add to calendar" or a calendar icon next to the season filter. Choose Google Calendar, Apple (iCal) or Outlook. You get a live subscription that follows time changes and playoff additions. Team apps offer the same under Schedule.

ESPN as a fallback

If a team page hides the sync option, ESPN's team schedule (espn.com/nhl/team/schedule/_/name/[abbr]) offers an iCal link at the bottom of the game list.

Following a Canadian team from the US (or vice versa)

The feeds are identical across the border; only the broadcast information differs. Time zones are handled by your calendar app, but note that Canadian teams span four zones from Vancouver (Pacific) to Montreal (Eastern).

Add it to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook

Once you have the schedule link (it usually starts with webcal:// or ends in .ics; a league's "sync" button hands it to your app for you), the steps are the same for every sport:

Google Calendar

1. Open calendar.google.com on a desktop browser (the mobile app can't add subscriptions).
2. In the left sidebar, next to Other calendars, click + → From URL.
3. Paste the link, then click Add calendar. It appears under Other calendars and syncs to your phone automatically.
4. Optional: click the three dots next to the calendar to give it a color, or untick it when you need a quiet week.

Apple Calendar (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

1. iPhone / iPad: Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar, paste the link, tap Next, then Save.
2. Mac: in Calendar choose File → New Calendar Subscription, paste the link, click Subscribe. Set Auto-refresh to Every day (or Every hour during the playoffs) and tick iCloud so it reaches all your devices.

Outlook

1. Outlook on the web / new Outlook: Calendar → Add calendar → Subscribe from web, paste the link, name it, click Import.
2. Classic Outlook desktop: File → Account Settings → Internet Calendars → New, paste the link. If game times look a few hours off, the desktop app ignored the feed's time zone; the web version doesn't have this problem.

Season structure

The NHL season runs from early October to mid-April. Each of the 32 teams plays 82 games, mostly on weeknights and Saturdays, with frequent back-to-backs on road trips. Sixteen teams reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs: the top three in each division plus two wild cards per conference. Every playoff round is best-of-seven, so the postseason can run into late June.

The Winter Classic on New Year's Day and the outdoor Stadium Series games are the marquee regular-season dates; they are in your team's feed like any other game.

Puck-drop windows to expect

• Weeknights — 7:00 or 7:30 PM local time; a few teams use 6:00 PM for early-week games
• National TV (ESPN, TNT) — Wednesday and Friday nights, 7:30 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET doubleheaders; Sunday afternoons on ABC in the second half of the season
• Hockey Night in Canada — Saturdays, 7:00 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET
• Winter Classic — January 1, 2027, early afternoon ET
• Matinees — Saturday and Sunday 1:00 PM local games, mostly in the second half of the season

How to pre-add the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Playoff series are scheduled round by round, so your team's feed only shows games a day or two ahead. Add all-day placeholders for these windows:

• First round — from April 19, 2027 (up to 7 games, roughly every other day)
• Second round — early May 2027
• Conference Finals — mid to late May 2027
• Stanley Cup Final — from about June 3, 2027

Time zones

Official feeds tag games with the arena's local time. A Canucks home game at 7:00 PM Pacific shows as 10:00 PM Eastern, and a Maple Leafs home game at 7:00 PM Eastern shows as 4:00 PM in Vancouver.
